Question??
We have company coming over after church tomorrow..nt our usual friends, you know the type, the ones that might as well be family because they have walked in your house when there is stuff everywhere...but really nice people that we don't know well. :/
I am not a real social person in real life..I don't do small talk hardly at all. I mean, even when I was a teen I could clear a party in one step by opening my mouth..
SO, what is your view on the possibility that the universe is actually the second energy level shell of an atom?
Oh, you don't like quantum physics? Well then, do you think Macbeth would have still killed Duncan and gained the throne if he hadn't had the witches prophesy? Or would he havenever gotten the throne..or would he have gotten it in a nonviolent manner?
oh..yeah, I understand you have to leave..bummer.
O.k..so that is my socio-verbal skill in a microbe.
Anyway..I want to have a great dinner tomorrow so this is the menu, they siad they like Mexican food...
Warm Mexican Artichoke Dip with Chipotle
Fresh made Tortilla chips
Carne Asada ( I don't have time to make the tortillas ..:(
SOft Corn Tortillas
SOft FLour Tortillas
Brown Rice with cilantro and maybe roasted pistachio
Pico de Gallo
Bittersweet Chocolate Fudge Cake with Orange Curd filling and Ganche frosting
..
only on the dessert I am tempted to make it vanilla cake and cut into 4 layers and then do 2 ganache and 2 orange curd fillings...what do you think??

Marye it sounds gorgeous and you should enter your cake in this months Waiter there is something in my ...Layered cake. Held by Andrew at Spitoon Extra this month. Can't remember how to make this a link so you'll have to get his link at my place. Wish I was coming to lunch tomorrow.

I don't think you need to worry about the condition of the house, or the conversational skills. The food is going to blow them away. :)
I think it sounds really, really good!
And I think Macbeth probably would have still at least attempted to usurp Duncan without the prophesy, because his wife was hell-bent on him becoming king. He seemed a wee simple, however, so I think she would have eventually been able to convince him to try for greater power, though without the confidence from the prophesy I'm not sure he would have been able to pull it off.
Nerdiness is okay. :)
I'm sure your guests will be appreciative no matter what is on the table. When I have people I don't really know I keep it fail proof and simple.
